Dominik presents an episode of Textures on Future Radio 96.9 FM focusing on female singers in jazz, blues, and related genres. He notes a distinction between vocalists and instrumentalists, recalling a previous show he hosted for International Women's Day. Dominik shares music selections based on personal preferences, including Cassandra Wilson's layered voice and Nora Jones, whom he views as more bluegrass than jazz. And I've been sort of differentiating here between female jazz singers and female instrumentalists, but of course, in the right hands—or rather, the right vocal cords—the singing is, you know, the voice is just as much of an instrument as the thing that you have to, you know.

Come away, death, and the last one was Nora Jones above ground. Nora Jones is one of the great phenomena, and supposedly bringing jazz to the masses. But I never really, I I like her singing a lot, so that's why I played her song. But I never really think of her as jazz. I mean, it's much more.

Future Radio ninety six point nine FM here on the Textures program, and my name is Dominic Lukash, and I've been playing you female singers in jazz and blues, and sort of on the edges of genres as well.
