Dominik interviews Sarah Tomkins regarding the Horning Boat Show, an event organised entirely by volunteers to raise funds for Horning Village. Tomkins explains that last year the show raised ten thousand pounds, with funds allocated to the school, a defibrillator, the village hall ceiling, Horning Sailing Club, and the playing field. Ten thousand pounds, and it. People in the village are asked to put in bids, and then the committee look at the bids and see whether they are worthwhile giving money to. For example, we've given three thousand pounds to the playing field.
It's a boating area. Horning is so famous for its boats. It'll be why not do something in a boat show? So we were on the committee with Colin right in the beginning, and he's now stepped down as chairman, but he's been chairman for two years, and this year it's even bigger.
The Broad's Authority do not allow any of the boats that we have on the key to move today because of the danger. But come back another day, and you can hire a boat, go out on the river. If you want to go in a canoe, or even want to go in a big boat, and all boats in between.
